Charity Fillers hits 20,000 recorded audio plays of our charities 'commercials'! On the 20th November 2025 Radio Tyneside, broadcasting on the Newcastle and Tynemouth DAB multiplexes, played out the Leukemia UK - 'Nana' commercial which was our 20,000th play of a Charity Fillers ad on U.K. radio. Thank you Radio Tyneside and all the other radio stations who generously donate airtime to our good causes. Here's to the next 20,000!

What is Charity Fillers?

Do you remember the days of The Green Cross Code Man and Reginald Molehusband? All those public service announcements on TV and radio were produced and distributed by the government's Central Office of Information, which eventually morphed into the Cabinet Office's 'Radio Fillers'.

This is now the the main source for Public Information audio and video 'commercials' for unpaid use by broadcasters. Charity Fillers is designed to do the same process for U.K. Charities.

If you represent a registered charity and want to increase your charity's visibility by the use of radio and you want to get the best return for a minimal outlay then Charity Fillers is the ideal service to help you achieve your goals.

To create a Charity User account, we need a few details and would ask you to fill out the online form, in order for us to set up your User account. It shouldn't take more than three minutes to complete! Please click on the 'Charity Sign Up' menu tab at the top of this page to get you started.

Once you have submitted your information our team will check your credentials and if all is correct then we will then set up a User Account for your charity. This will then enable you to upload your charity commercials for distribution to potentially hundreds of U.K. radio stations.

You will then be able to upload your audio commercials or features to the Charity Fillers site, where U.K. radio stations have the opportunity to view, download and use your content on their radio stations.

The vast majority of U.K. radio stations using 'Charity Fillers' are non RAJAR reporting stations which means it is difficult to gauge an individual station's actual audience. However in the current RAJAR reporting period just over 5 million adults listened to these stations each week, representing 9% of U.K. radio listening. Charity Fillers gives you the opportunity to use these stations and increase your listening audience.

Radio stations using a 'Charity Filler' will file a weekly report detailing the number of times a Filler has been used on their station during the previous week, so that the Charity concerned has an indication of how many times a piece of audio is used each week.
